Income Targeting, Changed Location

Last year I wrote a blog piece about how to target people with search ads based on their income level. If you're selling a high-end product, for example, you could target people in the top 10%.

While that targeting option still exists, it's in a different place than before.

In the old Adwords format, it used to be found under Settings -> Locations -> Advanced -> Location Group -> Choose Location Group Type.

If you try that now, the income targeting option is gone.

In the new Adwords version, it's located in the Demographics tab, under household income.

I think placing it under 'Demographics' is a lot more intuitive, but remember these targeting options only work in the US.
